WANT, NEED, GREED. (2016)

The film makes references to the literal, physical process of exchange between hands, where hands represent a consumerist society.
Want, need, greed. (2016) is a ’rear-projection’ in which a projector is located behind a screen and the film projected onto the screen from behind for viewing without interruptance. Positioned at hip height, at a life-like size scale, the film plays on the ability or subconscious desire of the viewer to feel as if they can interact with the subjects hands. Touching on idea’s of mimetic engulfment and heightened perception, the work invites the viewer to mimic the movements and engage within exchange. The notion that there is need for the work and viewer to engage with one another is reciprocated in both.
